Wet Jacket are right at home in the historic Bendemeer Woolshed on the main highway at the entrance to the Queenstown wine region. The Wet Jacket Cellar door boast a unique location situated in a real working Woolshed from over 150 years ago, enjoy the full Wet Jacket wine range in a relaxed authentic environment. Spending and afternoon in this intriguing cosy cellar door is a great way to experience Queenstown’s history and get a taste of the Central Otago wine region.
The well-known Central Otago winery Akarua has paired up with Queenstown Artisan Catering to bring us the delicious Akarua Wines & Kitchen by Artisan. Setting up shop in the historic Walnut Cottage situated between Lake Hayes and Arrowtown, this new addition completes a triangle of cellar doors including Amisfield and Wet Jacket. Akarua wines will still maintain their main cellar door at their vineyard in Bannockburn, which has been owned by the Skeggs family since 1996, who have expressed their new location will act as a “taster” to what they have to offer in their expansive wine range. Queenstown Artisan catering are no newbies to the food scene either, the owners John & Debbie Pickens, have a background in catering to the elite on super yachts and private villas all around the world and have been working the catering circuit in Queenstown for the last 6 years. All we can say is that the menu speaks for itself and we can’t wait to try it out!
